The caves at Chislehurst are a labyrinth…

…of man-made tunnels covering over 6 Hectares and are up to 30 metres below the homes and woodlands above. The caves have appeared in television programs and provided a location for a broad range of cave and underground scenes for feature films, adverts, music videos over the last 50 years to the present day.

There is information below for any organisation wishing to consider the use of Chislehurst Caves as a location for location filming, photography, audio recording or as a remote base set up.

Location Rates and Payments Terms for Filming or Photography Facilities

The use of the premises shall be for location filming, photographic purposes, audio recordings or remote base set up only, the caves cannot be hired as a music venue or for any other public event.

Using the Caves for a filming or photographic location includes the use of the following: Car Parking, toilet facilities, bins for the disposal of domestic rubbish in bags and barrows for the transporting of equipment.

All rates and services are liable to VAT at the rate current at the date of hire.

There is a minimum hire period of 2 hours between the hours of 09.00–17.00, Wednesday to Sunday. Should any part of the hire period fall outside of those hours or days the minimum hire period is four hours.

Rates are charged by the half hour or any part thereof, i.e. 12.00–14.15 equals two and a half hours.

The chargeable period runs from the agreed start time until the last of the hirer’s staff leaves the premises and cave staff are able to lock the gates to the car park.

Full payments must made and cleared before the hire period commences. Payment can be made by cash, Debit or Credit card and cheque (which must clear before the start of the hire period).

Please note that failure to completely vacate the premises including the car park by the agreed times will incur additional charges.

A copy of suitable Public Liability Insurance must be produced before the hire period commences. Hirers will use the premises under their own insurance and will be responsible for the control and welfare of all persons attending.
